I revisited the idea of offering a cheaper, self-assembled alternative to the production model. The triangular body panels would add structural rigidity and improved safety, but at the cost of added drag and reduced range. Taking a cue from Ikea, the whole vehicle could be shipped unassembled in a compact box, with instructions and tools for assembly. Any motor vehicle is complex, so the challenge would be to engineer this vehicle with ease of assembly and repair in mind, using the minimum of parts.
